I recently had the chance to connect with Dale Carter, founder of www.transitionagingparents.com. Dale has a fantastic website, blog and book about how to best approach the very complex challenges of helping aging parents manage significant life changes while maintaining their quality of life (and yours!).

There are a few key aspects to helping our clients enjoy an Assisted Vacation. One is to adequately plan for their vacation, paying close attention to variables such as travel logistics and health conditions. Another key to a successful Assisted Vacation is clear communication between all individuals involved.

In Dale Carter’s book, Transitioning Your Aging Parent: A 5 Step Guide Through Crisis & Change , she presents her ADAPT framework to help make difficult decisions associated with aging more controllable. The ADAPT framework is so well thought through that we will use the process as we plan vacations with our clients.

For the millions of families who are working through the major transitions brought on by the aging of a loved-one, Dale is an excellent resource for those who put a high priority on quality of life.

My best,
